Meet Shane Martin

Senator Shane Martin is a native and resident of Spartanburg County. He is a 1990 Graduate of Dorman High School, and received both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Clemson University. He used this education to start his own successful business, which specializes in aerodynamic testing and program management.

Before being elected to the state senate, Shane served on the Spartanburg School District 6 school board from 2005 to 2008 (he resigned to become a State Senator). Shane is a proud conservative, and fights to uphold Christian, conservative values in the South Carolina Legislature. In the Capital, he serves on the Finance, Medical Affairs, and Rules Committees.  He is also the Chairman of the Senate Corrections and Penology Committee and Chairman of the Senate Finance Criminal Justice Subcommittee.

Shane and his wife, Amy, have been married for 26 years. They have two children—a daughter, Ashlyn, who is 23, and a son, Aidan, who is 18. Shane is an honorary member of the Pacolet Lion’s Club. Shane’s faith is important to him. He is a devoted Christian and is an active member and ordained deacon at Philadelphia Baptist Church.

As a State Senator, Shane Martin continues his proven record of accessibility. He continues to listen to his constituents, meet with them, e-mail them, and call them on the phone. By listening to the people, Shane is able to stay “in-touch” and work to set policies that prevent problems in the future. He does the necessary research to make certain he has the facts. Please call Shane on his cell phone at (864) 804-8499. He looks forward to hearing from you.
