The state budget for 2024-2025 includes funds for critical needs in South Carolina along with taxpayer relief. Some highlights include:
- $100 million in accelerated and permanent income tax relief
- an increase to the teacher salary schedule for all teachers
- with first-year teachers starting at $47,000
- $30 million for Education Scholarship Trust Funds
- $1.6 million for salary increases for the Highway Patrol
- $200 million for county transportation committees to use on county roads and bridges
- $100 million for state bridge repair
- $117 million for rural roads
- $34.5 million for veterans nursing homes
