The Senate has passed a bill to forgive school attendance for the number of days missed for snow.

I proposed an amendment to eliminate altogether the state-mandated 180-day requirement and instead let districts set their own calendars.

I agreed to file it as a separate bill instead, which I have done.

The snow-day issue is a prime example of the ridiculous amount of control Columbia has over us and particularly our schools. I plan to do more to get Columbia off our backs.
