The Senate has passed two bills that will protect and enhance our outdoor heritage.
S. 876 provides further protection to landowners and further clarity by allowing a landowner to hunt his own land with a firearm within three hundred yards of a residence.
Previously hunting on your own property within 300 yards of a residence was illegal, but this bill recognizes the right of the property owner to hunt safely on his own property.
S. 913 outlines the legal parameters for the sport of falconry in South Carolina.
The bill clarifies how these birds of prey must be handled and how their hunting must be controlled.
I was proud to vote for both of these bills that now are in the House.
