I mentioned in a previous article that the ethics reform bill was taking up space on our calendar and preventing us from voting on something meaningful like the Nullification of Obamacare.

The ethics bill is fine, although impotent, but I did propose one amendment to ensure that those of us who work for a living are able to tend to our businesses while in Columbia without being charged with wasting time or resources.

My goal is to keep elected offices open to working men and women and not let the House and Senate turn into a millionaires’ club.

I voted for the bill although I was tempted when my name was called to reply “it doesn’t matter.”

The bill now will go to conference, and I suspect that there it will die because the House will insist on its version and the Senate won’t budge.

I’ll keep you posted in the coming weeks.
