We live in an unfortunate time when too many so-called adults not only approve of but champion life and body-altering medical experimentation on children. The Assembly passed legislation to ensure that children in South Carolina will not be harmed by experimental, life-altering gender-transition procedures.

This common-sense legislation protects minors from unnecessary and dangerous puberty blocking drugs and hormones, as well as sex-reassignment surgeries. It also requires schools to inform parents if their child expresses confusion about their gender or identity. We expect the governor to sign this bill soon.
